![]() ![]() Less than a third of the land is arable, but terraforming will open up the hinterland. While the middle of the map provides a wealthy early game, steel is more distant on the average. It is a medium challenge and best left to the Folktail Faction. This featured waterfall is one of the quarter-sized maps and provides a safe start. But, it is the perfect map for building splendid suspension bridges. Of course, terraforming options are few, with little reason to terraform much of it. ![]() Also, arable land edges every area, making plenty of room to build self-sufficient districts anywhere. The biggest advantage is close steel resources. ![]() It is another of the quarter size maps, and one of my favorite. The Meandering river is perfect for the Steel Teeth Faction. It also offers quite a bit of terraforming potential. The variations in height promise a visually stunning world on this map. It is also a bit more of a challenge, as the steel resources are difficult to obtain. The Canyon map is one quarter the size of the larger maps. Fortunately, the start between the waterfalls is picturesque and makes it an obsession for the creative. Terraforming will be essential in thriving in this world. No doubt about it… this map is not for the faint hearted. This challenging Mountain map is basically a three quarter size playing area. It would also make dam engineering a safer prospect. Moving up near the falls would give you a good view and a more casual building experience. You could move the start position up and to the right so you’re on a bigger island near a deep water pool for arable land year round. ** Suggestion: Anyone who would like to experience this map without these limitations could easily edit the map before starting the game. Damming up the wrong spots will cut off your water supply very fast.It takes longer for the water to return after a drought because you are so far from the source.* Caution: Dam building is a bad strategy here until you understand the water flow. There is probably nothing here you would want to blow up. And, industry can be built on water platforms to make better space on the smaller islands. The good news is most of the map is arable. You will most likely make a detour right or left with early districts to obtain some steel, before moving along the middle archipelago to the lovely cascading waterfall at back. You start out on a mid-sized island with only basic resources to ensure a safe and successful early game… with no steel. Waterworld! The most beautiful map in the game to date, and one of the biggest full-sized maps. This is a decent map for the Steel Teeth Faction. It could be played with a mix of terraforming and suspension bridge strategies. This is one of the biggest, a full size map. ![]() The Terrace map is a more balanced version of the Mountain range map, with lots of table land mesas. Everything is possible here: terraforming, explosives, suspension bridges, and either faction is do-able. You could do just about anything with this full size map. But, the map is mostly land, as opposed to the Thousand Islands map. idiotic. The river winds off of two larger lakes. but the goal is to have happy beavers there), just to have them, thats somehow. My sugesstion: more water and therefor also even longer periods of no water, but in a way you have a chance to counter that with intelligent and effizient way of building and playing.Įdit : And i dont want to build pure robot districts (i do sometimes for terraforming to build a district there later. To reach the "set" limit on a big map so fast before you reach the natural limit is a bit frustrating. Cause you cant verticalize growing of plants and trees, they are a natural limit by the size of the map. But ok, there must be limit in a game with vertical building, but its set a bit low for my taste. smile) but its a bit sad, i like the hard setting cause the normal one is so forgiving that its no fun, but the limitation in water when you just do use less then half the map is bad design for a game like this in my opinion. My beavers dont work, thats what robots are for (ok my healers are beavers, cause of the beavering touch. ![]()
